                                          Cardiologist
Duties and Responsibilities: A cardiologist is a doctor of the heart, arteries, and veins. They are medical doctors who prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases of the cardiovascular system. They also promote heart health and provide rehabilitation to those who have had surgery or treatments for heart ailments. Invasive non-interventional cardiologists diagnose patients as well as performing catheterizations to examine clogged arteries. Interventional cardiologists perform cardiovascular procedures to cure or treat diseases.
Salary: $ 234,426 - $ 321,080
Education: To become a cardiologist you must go through a lot of educational and clinical practice. You have to complete a pre-med Bachelor’s degree. You need to choose a heavy pre-med program course like anatomy, biology, chemistry, and statistics. You then should get a Doctor of medicine (M.D.) degree. That will introduce you to medicine and the medical career. After that you can move into a 2 or 3 year cardiology residency that will help you because you are with professionals doing hands on activities. Not only that but you must pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), which tests your medical and science knowledge and assesses whether you can apply unsupervised treatments.

Reflection: I would not want to become a Cardiologist because it’s a lot of work and education that you must go though. Also it’s a difficult area to work in because the heart is what keeps us living and if they make one mistake that person that their working with can die. I wouldn’t want that job because I could make a mistake that can put me at risk to loosing that job that I have worked so much for.
