Duties and
responsibilities: Biomedical engineers combine biology, medicine, and
engineering to solve medical and health related problems. They design big MRI
machines along with microscopic machines used in surgery. They also research
and develop prostheses, evaluate artificial organs, and improve instrumentation
used in hospitals and clinics. Biomedical engineers usually work in teams with
other engineers or with research and manufacturing professionals. They are very
important people because they create special products to save people’s lives.
Salary:
$79,610 - $ 92,870
Education:
In order to become a biomedical engineer you must have a Bachelor’s degree.
Also they must formal training combined with mechanical and electronic
engineering. Unlike many engineering fields, many entry level biomedical
engineers hold a master’s degree.
Reflection:
I wouldn’t want to be a biomedical engineer because they have to have a high
degree and that’s takes a lot of time in school, I really don’t want to spend a
long time in school. Also it may be nice to help people by saving their lives
but it’s a lot of work. It pays well but it’s a lot of hard work.
