Interdisciplinary Project

When I found out about our interdisciplinary projects I was upset because I knew it was a hard project to do. Last year when I did it was hard for me to present to a class. I’m a really shy person in front of people I don’t know. My topic was hepatitis, but we had to do a lot of work because it wasn’t just one hepatitis it was hepatitis A, B, C, D, E, and G. It was a lot of work that I had to do because I got a hard part of the project. I did a lot of research and I couldn’t find anything so I kept looking for more research. I had to also do an essay so I did it and it was pretty easy. It was close to presentation week and I still hadn’t found anything about how hepatitis affects local individuals. I was stressed out because we had finals after the presentation and I had to study but with my part of the project still not done I wasn’t going to be able to study. After days and days of research I finally found something and I quickly finished the power point presentation. I was so happy that I had finally finished everything. Now the only other problem I had was my speech. I didn’t know what to say and whatever I was going to say I had to memorize as well. I decided to look for some facts about my part of the project and I soon had a speech. I memorized it and I felt proud of my work. The next day it was presentation day I wasn’t nervous at all that was until I got home from school. I was nervous because I didn’t want to forget my speech and also I was going to be in front of people I didn’t know. After I got home I started to get ready and practice my speech. When I got to school I was really nervous and I was forgetting all my speech. Then they told our group to start getting ready because we were going to present next. As I was practicing I was super nervous and I had forgotten my speech so I had to read of my card. When it was our turn to present I was scared to forget what I had to say but I kept rereading my card. We were up and presenting. After we finished I felt so relieved that we had finally finished our project. We got some good comments and overall I think my group and I did a good job.

“When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad.”
Abraham Lincoln

Reflection: This quote is saying that if I choose to do wrong I will always feel bad but if I choose to do right I will always feel good. For example if I choose to do drugs I might feel good at the moment when I’m doing drugs but later in life I will always feel bad because that was a wrong choice to make and the drugs can have a consequence too. If I choose not to do drugs later in life I will feel good for making a good choice by staying away from drugs and I will not feel guilty for doing something wrong nor having the consequences that drugs have.

You Are in Charge
“Take responsibility for your own body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.”
Mr.Haymore

Reflection: I think that this statement is true because we are all supposed to be in charge of our own self to be happy and have a good life. We need to take control of our body to be happy, our mind to think straight, and our spirit to be happy as well. If we take responsibility for these things we can be happy with ourselves because we are living the way we want to live.

The sting of the scorpion
I think that Patrick the little boy choose the wrong because he choose to get stung he didn’t have to get stung but because of his wrong choice he did get stung. His parents told him to always wear his shoes not sandals and he disobeyed them by not wearing his shoes because he thought that nothing was going to happen to him. I think that we should always obey our parents because they know what is right and what is wrong they tell you to do things because they care for you and they have been through that already. I think if he would’ve obeyed his parents by wearing his shoes nothing would have happened to him and he wouldn’t have gone through all the pain he went through.

Physical Fitness

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body; it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in The United States and Canada. It is a day to give thanks for the harvest and blessings. It is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November in the United States of America and the 2nd Monday of October in Canada. In 1621, it was the year there first harvest proved successful, Pilgrims and Wampanoag Indians gathered around to enjoy the first Thanksgiving. For about two centuries, only the colonies celebrated Thanksgiving until Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving to be held every November. Thanksgiving lasted about 3 days straight eating all that they had harvested. Because they didn’t have ovens or sugar their meals did not consist of pies, cakes, or other desserts

Reflection: I think that having Thanksgiving as a national holiday is a good thing because we can celebrate all the things we are thankful for and spend time with our families being happy together.
I am thankful for …
1) My family

Reflection of Kindness: I think that what the little boy did was very nice. Instead of keeping the ball he decided to give it to a little boy that really wanted the ball and in return he received something better. Someone saw him do the generous act of kindness and instead of the ball he got a signed bat by his favorite baseball player, diamond back baseball tickets, and he got to sit in the press box. Because he was kind he received something better than what he wanted. If you are kind like the little kid greater things will happen to you.

“It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today.”
         -James Freeman Clark
Reflection: I think that this quote means that whatever we do now whether it’s right or wrong, it can affect us for life. If we do something bad the consequences can follow you for eternity and you won’t be happy. If you do something good the consequences are good and they will follow you for eternity and since you only do good things, good things will happen for you and will let you be happy for eternity. Veterans Day
Veterans Day is celebrated on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month because a temporary cessation of hostiles was declared between the allied nations and Germany in the First World War.  This holiday first became a legal holiday in 1938.  It is a holiday dedicated to American Veterans of all wars. Even though the war officially ended on June 28, 1919, November 11th remained the public date of when the “Great War” ended. This day usually consists of parades and public gatherings as well as a pause in all activities at 11 am. On November 11th of 1921, an unidentified American solider was buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC. The U.S. congress declared that day a legal federal holiday and in honor of all those who participated in war.
Reflection: I think that it’s a good thing that we have a holiday for the people who serve our country. Not only do they risk their lives for us but they also have to leave their families behind, knowing that there is a possibility that they will never see them again. I think it’s a good way to honor them and or remember them with parades and ceremonies at their tombs. We should have a respect for them and always appreciate that they protect us and fight for our freedom.
