                                         9/11 Attack
On September 11, 2001, a group of Islamic hijackers” al-Qaeda”, hijacked 4 American Airline planes. At 8:45am they crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center. 18 minutes after the first attack, another plane hit the south tower.  America was under the attack of Islamic terrorists. There were 14 hijackers.  Reports have been said that they were hired by the Saudi fugitive, Osama bin-Laden. Some of those terrorist had come to the United States and had been living here for more than a year others a couple months before the big attack. They had been taking flight lessons in order to hijack the plane. At 9:45am another plane crashed into the west side of the pentagon (military headquarters) located in Washington D.C. 15 minutes later after the pentagon attack, the south tower collapsed , leaving a massive cloud of dust and smoke. AT 10:30 the other tower collapsed. Over 3,000 people were killed in this attack, more than 400 were police officer or firefighters, and about 10,000 were treated with severe injuries. In the fourth plane, the passengers fought the hijackers causing the plane to flip over and land on a Pennsylvania field. The destination of that plane is unknown; some say it was headed to the White House, the U.S Capitol, or one of the severe nuclear plants along the eastern seaboard. At 9 pm the current president at that time, George W. Bush, delivered a televised address saying “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundations of America.” America was in terror because they thought that at any moment they would attack, but this all ended on May 2, 2011 when they finally tracked down and killed the mastermind behind the 911 attack, Osama bin-Laden. America will never forget the attacks that they had in New York city on September 11, 2001.

Reflection: I think that the 911 attack was an experience that anyone who witnessed it will never forget. It’s sad to know that we lost a lot of people in that attack. I don’t remember anything about the attack but now that I’m older I realize that that day everyone was in danger everyone was scared of being attacked.
